Who we are
This website is run on behalf of Cllr John Morris, Labour Councillor for Canning Town South, London Borough of Newham. For any questions about this policy or how your data is handled, contact john.morris@newham.gov.uk.
What we collect
When you use this website, we may collect:
- Information you submit through the contact, casework, or newsletter sign-up forms (such as your name, email address, home address, and the details of your enquiry).
- Basic technical information needed to operate the site securely.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry or casework issue, including, where necessary, raising it with Newham Council or other organisations on your behalf.
- To send you email updates, but only if you've actively opted in via the newsletter sign-up form.
How long we keep it
We keep casework correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve your issue and for a reasonable period afterwards, in case the matter is reopened.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, and in most cases to ask for it to be deleted or for us to stop processing it. To exercise any of these rights, contact john.morris@newham.gov.uk.
Newsletter sign-up
We only add you to our email update list if you tick the consent box on the sign-up form. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send, or by contacting us directly.
Third parties
We do not sell your personal data. The "Get in touch" contact form and the email sign-up form on this site are processed by Formspree, a third-party form service, in order to deliver your message or sign-up to Cllr Morris's office by email.
If you consent via the cookie banner, this site also uses Google Analytics to understand site usage — such as which pages are viewed and roughly where visitors come from. This only runs if you accept, gives us aggregated, anonymised statistics rather than data tied to you individually, and can be switched off at any time from the Cookie Policy page.
